Mercy Hits Different at Dawn
Mercy At Dawn Coffee began at a kitchen table long before it became a coffee company.
For years, dawn has been my favorite part of the day. Before the emails, before the obligations, before the world begins asking anything of me, there is a quiet moment of grace. A cup of coffee. A prayer. A sunrise. The chance to begin again.
That simple rhythm became the inspiration behind Mercy At Dawn Coffee.
My husband Roger and I have spent our lives raising a family, building meaningful work, serving our communities, and trying to stay faithful through both beautiful seasons and difficult ones. As parents of nine children and grandparents to fourteen, we've learned that mercy is often found in ordinary places. It shows up in small sacrifices, second chances, quiet perseverance, and the people who walk beside us through life's joys and sorrows.
We wanted to create a coffee company that reflected those values.
Not simply another bag of coffee on a shelf, but something that invited people to slow down, breathe deeply, and remember what matters most.
Why Coffee?
Coffee has always been part of the rhythm of our home.
It's been shared across kitchen tables, during early mornings before work, through family gatherings, difficult conversations, celebrations, and ordinary Tuesdays that needed a little extra grace.
When we began exploring the world of specialty coffee, we discovered that exceptional coffee and meaningful purpose don't have to be separate things. The best coffee comes from people who care deeply about their craft, and we wanted to build a company that honored both quality and mission.
We believe purpose should never excuse mediocre coffee.
Every bag still has to earn its place at your table.
That's why we focus on specialty-grade coffee sourced from high-altitude growing regions known for producing exceptional flavor. Our coffees are carefully selected, ethically sourced, and roasted in small batches to highlight the character already present in each bean.
The result is coffee that is clean, flavorful, and worthy of your morning ritual.
Our Commitment to Quality
We partner with experienced specialty coffee roasters who share our commitment to quality, transparency, and responsible sourcing.
Our coffees are sourced from respected growing regions around the world, including Central America, South America, Africa, and Asia. We seek coffees grown at higher elevations where slower maturation creates greater complexity and depth of flavor.
Every coffee we offer is specialty-grade and rigorously tested to ensure it is free from mold and mycotoxins.
For those who love decaf, we are proud partners of Swiss Water, allowing us to offer chemical-free decaffeinated coffee that maintains the integrity and flavor of the original bean.
We believe good coffee begins with respect: respect for the farmer, respect for the process, and respect for the customer who welcomes our coffee into their home.
Mercy Beyond the Cup
The word "mercy" in our name is not accidental.
Mercy At Dawn Coffee exists to promote a culture of life through our Mercy for Life initiative. A portion of our profits supports pregnancy help and life-affirming care for women, children, and families facing difficult circumstances.
We believe every person has inherent dignity and worth. We believe compassion should be practical. And we believe small daily choices can become meaningful acts of generosity when joined to a greater purpose.
Your morning coffee becomes part of something larger.
Not through guilt. Not through obligation.
Simply through the quiet decision to support a business committed to both excellent coffee and meaningful mercy.
From Ostrander, Ohio
Mercy At Dawn Coffee is proudly based in Ostrander, Ohio and serves customers across the United States.
Whether you're enjoying a sunrise on a Kentucky farm, a quiet porch in Ohio, or a crowded city apartment somewhere else entirely, our hope is the same:
That your first cup of the day becomes a reminder that every morning is a fresh beginning.
That beauty still matters.
That mercy is never wasted.
And that some things are worth slowing down for.
Ethically sourced. Patiently roasted. Gratefully brewed.
This is mercy, at dawn.
